I came here with photos of what I wanted—to have my highlights brought up a bit more with balayage and then toned to blend in without being overly bright blonde. The blonde female hairstylist acknowledged the photos, said it would be easy, and hand-painted the blonde onto my hair. The experience wasn’t particularly bad; she was cordial. A separate assistant blow-dried my hair with curls, showed me the back, but my hair was very curled. Even though the color was much brighter than I wanted, I accepted it and left because I had an event. After a week, my hair continued to lighten to a bright blonde, not what I asked for. I saw a photo of the back of my head from a concert, and the highlights were very blotchy and unblended—I’ve never experienced this. I emailed the salon asking for more toner because it was too blonde. When I returned and pointed out the blotchy pieces, the stylist said, “That’s what happens when you handpaint.” Having had my hair done in top salons in New York City and around the world, including Rome, this work was very poorly executed. I was surprised she defended it. I told her it didn’t look intentional; she said it was intentional. I said the point is it doesn’t look intentional—it’s embarrassing. She ignored me, didn’t discuss what color to tone, and her assistant just started working with whatever color they found to darken my hair without fixing the botched blonde pieces. This is a poor reflection of the stylist’s ability. She let a client leave like that not once, but twice. I didn’t push for the bleaching to be redone because she rolled her eyes, and I didn’t want her to do further work. Her assistant, a young blonde lady with short hair, was very rough, got water in my face, and handled me aggressively. The “correction” didn’t correct anything. I saw ego was involved, and the stylist lacked the ability to achieve a professional result from her first attempt and her lack of effort to fix it. Now my hair is toned darker, but as the toner washes out, the bleach parts will become as uneven as in the photo, as if I never got my hair done. It’s shocking that someone calls themselves a stylist and lets a client walk out representing their work this way. I was charged for a blow dry without being told, and when I questioned it, the stylist said she never dealt with this problem before. I said I’m not sure what problem you mean—I’m asking questions. She was entirely unable to accept responsibility. I include a photo that proves everything. This was probably just one week after she did it, if not less. I paid over 200 euro. Sad.
